The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will assist in establishing a working Safety Committee or advising an existing Safety Committee, including policies and structure. The CRO will be available to attend Safety Committee meetings for the purpose of reviewing incident reports, facility inspection reports, and developing new policies and procedures which will address the specific needs of the Safety Program.

The CRO will work closely with the employee assigned the responsibility for employee safety. Loss trends are analyzed and reported to inform senior management of where the losses are occurring. Worksite and department safety audits are conducted for the purpose of identifying risk exposures. Employee safety training will be scheduled to address these risk exposures, online training portal is available to employees 24/7.

Accident investigators should be appointed to investigate accidents occurring within their departments to determine the cause(s) and to recommend solutions to prevent recurrence. The CRO can assist with developing individualized accident investigation report forms. Additionally, the CRO will advise or help create an elected Accident Investigation Committee to review losses and determine culpability and preventative measures going forward.

OSHA Standards are considered minimum safety guidelines. The CRO can provide written program guidelines and implementation training for OSHA standards that are relevant to any given industry. Some of the programs would include Personal Protective Equipment, Hazard Communication, Workplace Violence Prevention, Lockout / Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Confined Space Entry. These programs are basic to all industrial safety programs.

The CRO can offer planned inspection forms for general workplace and departmental risk exposures, as well as, a number of specialized inspection forms specific to each area of operation. The CRO can tour facilities and report exposures.

An online safety training and policy portal limited for Loss Control clients. Each client is provided with a personalized login and password, opening up a world of safety training videos, PowerPoint presentation materials, and policies. There are hundreds of safety topics available online. Most are available in both English and Spanish.
